Please help save lives with your tax-deductible donations--
These are just a couple of the special dogs we work with in our rescue program. They, as well as others like them, need your help!

Name: Tigger Gender: Male Age: Puppy Coat: Black and Tan Smoothcoat Adoption Fee:
$200 |
Tigger is a special little puppy who was born with a twist in his
spine that prevents him from walking normally. He also has an underdeveloped liver, so he needs regular medication and special food. In spite of all this, Tigger has a wonderful attitude and truly appreciates life. He scoots all over the place, gives tons of doggie kisses, and never gets grumpy or discouraged. Tigger will probably have a shorter lifespan than other dogs, but there is more love in this little guy than in most "normal" dogs! He will need a special adopter who can appreciate him, and who will not have a problem with his medication schedule and vet expenses. |

Name: Tara Gender: Female Age: 5 Years Coat: Dapple Longhair Adoption Fee: $200 Apply For Adoption |
Tara is a special needs
dog. She has had back surgery not very long ago due
to a spinal injury, and is unable to use her rear
legs. Tara scoots around just fine on her front
legs, and is also quite capable of using a cart.
Tara has regained much of her ability to relieve
herself, but still needs some assistance expressing
her bladder fully. Tara requires no ongoing
medication for her condition, and over time may
regain some use of her limbs, but in all probability
will never be able to stand or walk on her own.
Despite all of this, Tara has maintained a wonderful
attitude. The first thing to come back for her was
the ability to wag her tail! She is the first to
wag when someone comes to see her, loves to be
petted, gives doggie kisses, enjoys belly rubs, and
likes having physical therapy (working with the rear
legs to maintain muscle tone). Tara is just about
the nicest and prettiest dog anyone could ask for.
She will need an adopter who is either knowledgeable
or willing to learn about her disability, and
patient enough to take care of her needs for a long
time to come- her injury has no effect on her
lifespan so there will probably be a lot of years
ahead for her. |
